Pregnancy calendar by week. An experienced doctor tells how a child develops in the womb and what changes occur in the pregnant woman’s body. All the most important things about the 33rd week of pregnancy

Changes in your body during the 33rd week of pregnancy:

The vast majority of pregnant women feel that the wait for childbirth is long. Quite often, the reason is that a large stomach makes it difficult to move, walking becomes unstable, breathing is supported, so you need to walk more slowly. Maybe try to pick up a collection of slow music that you like, that you can listen to while walking. It’s hard to sleep, my back hurts. Good advice would be to do exercises for pregnant women, swimming. Orthopedic mattresses also come in handy. And do not forget about such an invention of mankind as a pillow for pregnant women, but several small pillows and towel pads will completely replace a special pillow.

Impaired blood flow from the legs and pelvic organs, which contributes to the appearance of varicose veins of the legs, which in turn is manifested by rapid fatigue of the legs. Feet mostly get bigger and need looser shoes. By the way, if suddenly you haven’t taken off the rings yet, I advise you to take them off, because the swollen fingers will squeeze.

An obstetrician-gynecologist can explain Braxton-Hicks pseudo-periods to you. These breaks have a certain training value, and differ in that they are irregular, short-lived, up to 1 minute, and can be repeated after 4-5 hours.

It will also be useful for you and the baby to learn how to breathe correctly, this will allow you to significantly reduce the pain during childbirth, as well as make the efforts effective so that the baby is born correctly and quickly.

Since research indicates that one of the biggest fears of a pregnant woman is the fear of pain during contractions, I advise you to consult with your obstetrician-gynecologist. Find out about the possibility of anesthesia during childbirth, for example, about epidural anesthesia.

There are also alternative approaches to childbirth, such as home births and pool births. I have to admit that as a doctor, I trust childbirth under the control of monitors more, because if something suddenly goes wrong, the chances of providing the necessary help in a specialized institution are higher.

Now you still have time to decide about partner childbirth. Partner childbirth is an opportunity to give birth with a loved one who can support you in a difficult moment. A person close to you can be your husband, mother, sister or even a friend. A good experience is partner childbirth with the child’s father, because it gives a unique opportunity to be close to your child from the first minutes.

How does the baby grow?

The baby’s skin becomes pink, the subcutaneous tissue smooths out the folds. The first hair of the fetus (lanugo) is already replaced by its own hair. Nails grow, the baby can even scratch, and after birth often needs the first manicure. The baby’s lungs practice inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid. Also, by swallowing amniotic fluid, the baby trains the gastrointestinal tract and urinary system. All organs are trained before birth!
