Pregnancy calendar: 17th week of pregnancy
Pregnancy calendar by week. An experienced doctor tells how a child develops in the womb and what changes occur in the pregnant woman’s body. All the most important things about the 17th week of pregnancy
Changes in your body:
Your belly is growing, your uterus is halfway between your pubic bone and your navel. Now, when getting into the car, pay attention to how to wear a seat belt: fasten only the diagonal part, and place the transverse horizontal part behind you so that it does not squeeze the child, especially in case of a sudden stop. Try to drive very carefully, and, if possible, change the driver’s seat to a passenger seat.
I also advise you to attend classes at a parenting school. Classes are designed to help pregnant women learn basic self-care techniques during pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period. Instructors at such schools are usually quite open and willing to help. It is good, if possible, to attend such classes together with the child’s father. Such joint science allows better psychological preparation for future parenthood.
How does the baby grow?
By the end of the week, the child will be 12.7 cm in length (measurement from the top of the head to the edge of the buttocks), like a good big apple, and will also weigh approximately.
This period is devoted to the development of the skin, namely the pigment cells that produce the pigment – melatonin, which is why the skin is not transparent. The baby’s bones also develop, they become strong (calcified) from soft rubbery ones.
