Pregnancy calendar: 37th week of pregnancy
Pregnancy calendar by week. An experienced doctor tells how a child develops in the womb and what changes occur in the pregnant woman’s body. All the most important things about the 37th week of pregnancy
Changes in your body (37th week of pregnancy):
Many women notice that it is difficult to sleep in the last weeks of pregnancy. The reason is a large belly due to an enlarged uterus. Even lying on its side, the uterus with the child squeezes the vessels, organs of the abdominal and pelvic cavity. Hence the frequent urination, the need to go to the toilet, and the feeling of tiredness in the legs. In addition, the bones of the pelvis diverge slightly and the ligaments become elastic, so that it is easy for the baby to move forward during childbirth. Back pain can become particularly annoying. In this case, special exercises for pregnant women are very helpful: Kegel exercises, cat exercises, exercises in the pool. Exercises for pregnant women will not only help reduce back pain, but also properly prepare the necessary muscles for childbirth.

And your baby may have different plans for the night than you do. Although the rhythm of sleep and activity is mostly adjusted to the rhythm of the woman, the baby may have a habit of forcing you to walk in the middle of the night to improve blood supply and more oxygen to reach the baby. That is, you can have fun, or not so much.
Do not forget to monitor the activity of the child, record the time during which the child made 10 movements. If you feel that the child is more active than usual and does not calm down after a slow walk, I advise you to consult a doctor, because the increased activity of the child may indicate a problem.
If you haven’t packed your things in the maternity hospital yet, I advise you to do it, because the due date is almost on the nose and it’s better to be ready for surprises.
How does the baby grow?
It is accepted that at 37 weeks a child is premature. The child’s body is practically ready for birth and life outside the mother’s body (womb). This means that if you go into labor, the doctor will most likely not stop the process. However, a full-term baby is considered after 39 weeks of pregnancy. These two weeks are necessary for the child’s lungs and brain to develop. If, according to medical indications, you should give birth through a Caesarean section, the doctor, in the case of a normal course of pregnancy, will prescribe delivery already after the 39th week.
Most of the children mostly already have hair. Hair at the birth of a baby can have a completely unusual color: from light brown-haired parents to dark blond dad and mom. On the fingers, the nails may need the first manicure after birth.
The baby’s facial expressions are developing, she can furrow her eyebrows and smile sweetly. A little more and you will be able to see your baby’s face!
