Pregnancy calendar: 27th week of pregnancy
Pregnancy calendar by week. An experienced doctor tells how a child develops in the womb and what changes occur in the pregnant woman’s body. All the most important things about the 27th week of pregnancy
Changes in your body:
Your uterus now occupies a large space: the bottom of the uterus almost reaches the ribs, which in turn can create a feeling of insufficient breathing, shortness of breath. It is worth noting that despite your discomfort, the child receives a sufficient amount of oxygen. Erythrocytes (red blood cells) have a special baby hemoglobin (a protein responsible for transporting oxygen to the cells), which is always saturated with oxygen from the mother’s hemoglobin (erythrocyte). Also, the vascular system of the placenta is built in such a way that the child will have an advantage in receiving the necessary oxygen from the mother. Of course, if you feel short of breath, you should reduce the rhythm and intensity of any exercise, calm down and, if possible, walk through the park or down the street at a leisurely pace.
If you feel short of breath, you should also pay attention to the clothes, namely: do they not squeeze you excessively, or are they not heavy, bulky?
Shortness of breath as well can be provoked by a stressful situation. In this case, try:
- avoid trouble.
- practice walking in the fresh air.
- listen to your favorite relaxing music.
- meet friends
How is the baby growing (27th week of pregnancy)?
Your baby will open his eyes this week. Also in the eye, the formation of the retina takes place – the light-sensitive area that actually perceives the image. Until now, the eyes were squinted, but they were already reacting to the bright light, and the child tried to turn its head away from the source.
